fuck yes. trailer for john carter is out. hopefully they don’t muck it up, like they already did the title. i understand the logic behind retitling it from princess of mars to john carter of mars, but why eliminate the best part, of mars? bullshit marketing fuck.

been working hard, at work and in the studio. a lot on my mind. i think i’m checking out tonight.
i started the international version of john woo’s epic red cliff. at first i found myself disappointed and getting a little frustrated. the special effects were meh, the scenarios totally unbelievable, and very melodramatic. then it dawned on me. the melodrama is probably some cultural thing (like novellas), and the movie is really just a fun, over the top, blood bath filled with bad ass warriors, each a variation on established chinese master archetypes.
now i look forward to watching the second half.
